SELF-CARRYING INSULATED "AURORA" TYPE WIRES SIP-1, SIP-1A, SIP-2, SIP-2A. TU 16.K71-268-98
These wires are designed for transmission and distribution of electrical energy in overhead power and lighting networks with a voltage up to 0.6-1 kV at 50 Hz (backbone overhead transmission lines and in-feeding line tappings to residential and other buildings). The wires conform to HD 626 S I standard (Finland).- SIP-1 — with aluminium phase conductors, light-stabilized thermoplastic polyethylene insulation and uninsulated aluminium alloy zero carrying conductor.
- SIP-1A — with aluminium phase conductors, light-stabilized thermoplastic polyethylene insulation, and zero carrying conductor insulated with light-stabilized thermoplastic polyethylene.
- SIP-2 — with aluminium phase conductors, light-stabilized cross-linked polyethylene insulation and uninsulated aluminium alloy zero carrying conductor.
- SIP-2A — with aluminium phase conductors, light-stabilized cross-linked polyethylene insulation, and zero carrying conductor insulated with light-stabilized cross-linked polyethylene.

SIP-1A and SIP-2A wires can be manufactured with 16 or 25 mm2 phase conductors without the zero carrying conductor.
The round phase electric conductors with the cross-section of 16 mm2 are solid, the conductors with other cross-sections and the zero conductor are compacted and stranded.
The insulated phase and zero carrying conductors are twisted.
The factory length shall be agreed at the time of ordering.
The cables must be placed and connected at an ambient temperature of over -20 °C.
Service life is 25 years.
